Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American TV chef who is a popular personality. She also was a former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, shares an easy and straightforward techniques for home cooks. Chef Burrell worked at New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary tradition and its environment. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Burrell, who grew up within New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her when she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. She states "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I enjoyed every moment." I was unable to learn enough, didn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working for La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. While in Italy, she developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian food and culture. It is a huge influence on the way that Burrell approaches her cuisine. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten children living with difficulties. She also serves as an Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she is an advocate for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. She speaks about her cooking love and imparts her experiences in the food world when she travels throughout the US in the roles of speaker and mentor. Anne was always grateful that she had the opportunity to share her love of her life, and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
